The Making of a Global Craft Powerhouse
Crafter’s Companion started life as a “lightbulb moment” during founder Sara Davies’s time at university. Sara spotted a gap in the paper craft market for a tool that could make bespoke envelopes for hand-made cards. The “Enveloper” took off after it was featured on a TV shopping channel, with sales providing the funds for Sara to develop a range of other products in the space.

Building a Data-Driven Culture
Crafter’s Companion is a fast-growing, multichannel retailer, with 10,000 products across 100 brands. It ships to 300,000 customers in over 30 countries and has headquarters and warehouse operations in both the UK and US.
The rapid growth of the Crafter’s Companion business meant that it soon hit the limits of the patched-together systems the company was using to manage its financials, stock, and inventory. And as Sara says, “We weren’t able to run the business on data and information because we just didn’t have access to it.” Now, with NetSuite, financials and inventory are connected, and Sara and her team can see essential data in real time.
